Turning leaves on urban regeneration .
Themed attraction and experience design company , Katapult , are an award-winning , globally operating business - whose work is experienced by over 50 million people every year . They ’ ve teamed up with eco visitor attraction , The Eden Project , to explore the topic of nature-based urban regeneration in city centres .
This , the first project of its kind , saw Katapult and The Eden Project working alongside Down To Earth - a charity that wants to empower residents to be part of making their home city of Derby ( UK ), a world-leader in nature-based regeneration with a thriving , sustainable economy .
The trio announced the exciting vision in Spring 2023 to key city stakeholders , which included the creation of a future farm to supply produce to local restaurants , educational and social spaces for residents , a new wetlands area for wildlife , nature-based cocktail bar and rewilding projects across the 20 square miles of the city . With so many cities around the world making token gesture green spaces , this project was used to show the beauty , potential and benefits of living alongside nature .
