Mizzi Studio is a multidisciplinary design practice specialising in bio-architecture and biophilic design dedicated to mapping out an exciting , resilient , sustainable future . The team is made up of like-minded designers who are multidisciplinary thinkers and doers .
The studio is known across the industry for its in-depth knowledge of bio-architecture , nature-led design , lighting design , and sculptural installations , all of which create cohesive and unique environments for a vast range of reputable clients . Mizzi Studio ’ s work is defined by interactivity , engagement , and theatricality , known to be at the forefront of the experiential design movement that is reshaping today ’ s user experience .
Mizzi Studio has worked for some of the world ’ s leading cultural institutions and clients . Most recently , for the Royal Botanic Gardens , Kew , their team designed the interiors for The Family Kitchen , built on the concept of ‘ edutainment ’.
A prime example of the studio ’ s expertise in experiential design , the new immersive restaurant allows children to fully engage with the natural world , learn more about where food comes from and discover the important role that plants and fungi play in all our lives . Visitors enter a magical world of gardens forests and woodlands , where human beings appear to have been shrunk to the size of small creatures living with nature , putting children at centre of the experience .
Motivated by technology and digitally driven solutions , Mizzi Studio has designed furniture , robotics , sculpture , art installations and films , utilising everything from hand sculpting in high density foams to CAD CAM , milling , laser cutting and rapid prototyping to realise unexpected forms and objects . Using these methods , their team is able to create sculptural pieces with the beauty , detail , and structural purity of organic structures – bringing the wonder of nature into the realm of the man and machine made .
