Harrods Christmas in AR ‘ Witness a Spectacle ’

Visualise are specialists in augmented and virtual reality content production . Last Christmas they were tasked by Harrods to transform some of their world-famous shop window displays on the Brompton Road in London .
Crucially Harrods wanted to embrace the future of retail , allowing people to see the impossible , or in the words of the campaign ‘ Witness a Spectacle ’. Using the latest web technologies , Visualise built an augmented reality take-over of the
Harrods windows . Holding up your phone to four of the windows on the Brompton Road would allow you to see something very surprising !
Through the customer ’ s own devices , held up to the window , a pile of parts assemble from the floor of the display , building up into an incredible Gold or Red ‘ automaton ’. Initially turning slowly and moving in a stilted way to ‘ Swan Lake ’, the robot unshackles itself and breaks free from its platform !
