Macknade Ashford opened its doors in February of 2020 following the success of the original Macknade Faversham food hall . What started life as a tent in a field on the familyrun farm that has been producing quality food in Kent for over 170 years , Macknade now boasts a 10,000sqft food hall , delicatessen , butcher , cafe and kitchen renowned for quality local produce .
Making reference to the Elwick Place ’ s history as a cattle market , Macknade Ashford is the epitome of stripped back farmshop with an industrial-luxe twist and embodies the Macknade core values . Exposed metal , rustic wood and beautiful concrete floors showcases produce and creates a welcoming place to drink and dine .
Guests can enjoy an all-day dining experience , café , bar , independent grocer , delicatessen and butcher showcasing the best of local and international produce . Shop the shelves , full to brim with all the larder essentials and specialist ingredients from fresh Docker Bakery sourdough and Hinxden Dairy milk , to their very own iconic olive oil , coffee or condiments , so fill you basket with a selection of the finest groceries produced right here in the Garden of England .
Stock up on fruit and vegetables and stop by the in-house butcher for some of the finest cuts of meats around . The team works closely with farmers , producers and game dealers to carefully select the premium fresh meat for the counter – the Macknade Mr Pepper sausages are a must .
Explore the delicatessen ; every cheese lover ’ s dream , it is home to a fantastic selection of local and international cheeses and charcuteries , many of which come straight from the producer and a perfect for the ultimate picnic platter .
For those feeling a little peckish , stop by for a bite to eat inside or ( during the warmer months ) on the terrace . The passionate team create all manner of wonderful dishes and draw inspiration from the unique opportunity of having Macknade as their kitchen larder . Choose from a selection of Macknade favourites including the Classic Mack Burger , deli platters bursting with colour or the mouthwatering homemade Belgian waffles , as well as a cup of great coffee !
Not only that , they ’ re now open for late nights . On a Thursday , Friday and Saturday evening , enjoy a variety of events from informal tastings , tutored classes and live music while enjoying a class or two of English wine and something delicious from the menu . They even have Free Corkage Fridays ; choose any bottle of wine from their extensive selection and enjoy at no extra cost .
