Venue showcase Budapest’s €170m investment Hungexpo USPs • Budapest’s largest multifunctional exhibition and congress centre • A GL events site with 50+years of international expo and event management know-how • 60,000sqm exhibition area under one roof, complete with state of the art congress centre • All related services on-site • Direct airline links in Budapest with 120+ cities ungexpo Budapest, the city’s exhibition and multifunctional event complex is getting a €170m refurbishment project co-funded by the government and GL events. The project is including the expansion of the exhibition space by adding two new exhibition halls. Hall D1 will be 5,500sqm and Hall D2 7,500sqm. They will be fully equipped halls with natural light and 10m interior height. On their gallery levels, offices and meeting rooms will complement exhibitor needs. All existing pavilions will also receive a refurbishment, with new flooring, and a face lift on the exterior aspect. All eight of the exhibition halls, ranging from 5,000-20,000sqm and totalling 60,000sqm of space, will be interconnected with a covered passageway providing exhibition VI Supplement options under one roof. In addition, a brand new arrival hall (main image), a conference centre (upper right image) and on-site kitchen will be constructed. The three-level congress centre includes a 2,000pax auditorium and three dozen smaller meeting rooms, plus a 2,000sqm rooftop terrace. The construction is starting in May 2019 and expected to finish by 2021. Hungexpo is staying open and running events during the construction period. Besides its own exhibitions (Construma, HomeDesign, Agromash, Hungaromed, Sirha, Travel, Boat Show, Fehova, Automotive Hungary and Mach Tech), it will be hosting the international exhibitions Passenger Terminal Expo and Europe Rubber Expo in spring of 2020.
