Via
ira Gran Via in Barcelona is one of the
largest and most modern exhibition and
conference centres in Europe, and also
one of the most highly-rated by organisers,
exhibitors and visitors from all over the world.
Designed by Pritzker Prize Japanese architect
Toyo Ito, it combines a spectacular appearance
with respect for the environment and provides
an effi cient yet creative solution to the needs
of exhibitors and visitors alike. Its outstanding
features include renowned architecture,
modern functionality and a commitment to
sustainability.
The venue covers an area of 198,500sqm,
distributed among eight halls and three
independent accesses.
Hall 8 is home to the Gran Via Convention
Centre, an area of 24,500 sqm that is equipped
with soundproof panels. Its fl exibility allows for
the creation of multiple rooms with a maximum
size of 2,500 seats. In total there are 70 rooms.

adjacent halls, especially in Hall 6, a
multipurpose pavilion that can be turned into
a plenary room of 3,600 seats, extendable to
5,600.
The venue boasts a rooftop photovoltaic
plant of 165,000sqm, which helps avoid
the annual emission of 2,047 tons of C O 2
and generates enough energy to power 980
standard family homes.
The South Entrance holds the acclaimed
Nuclo Restaurant and leads exhibition visitors
to the upper walkway. This free-fl owing
design both maximises connectivity and gives
exhibitors and visitors unparalleled access to
Fira Gran Via’s cutting-edge event services and
logistics capacity.
Barcelona has 10,500 taxis and attendees can
easily fi nd taxi ranks right in front of South,
North and East accesses and Fira Gran Via is
just three kilometres from the city centre.
