Speaking Frankly
Frankfurt is a mainstay in the exhibition destination calendar, and shows by UBM and IMEX demonstrate why
For many years, Messe Frankfurt has enjoyed a partnership with UBM Live, part of British B2B media company UBM. Three of UBM’ s flagship events – CPHI Worldwide, Food Ingredients Europe and Health Ingredients Europe – have been held at the Frankfurt base since 2003. In 2011, the contract was extended by a further ten years. During this year’ s Health Ingredients Europe and Natural Ingredients, the world trade fair for natural food ingredients, UBM will – with the assistance of Messe Frankfurt – be launching a week-long festival devoted to natural and healthy food ingredients. Between 28 November and 2 December, leading international experts will be coming together at exhibitions, conferences, presentations and other events, and will be taking part in discussions on modern nutrition. With services ranging from security, infrastructure and logistics to food services, Messe Frankfurt is the partner of choice for its customers, ensuring that their events run smoothly. For many of the company’ s guest events,
sustainability aspects relating to infrastructure and services are of great importance. For example, the longstanding cooperation between Messe Frankfurt and UBM Live includes sustainability agreements in addition to the typical services. Sustainable event planning is also a key focus of the congress and convention sector. Here, sector leader IMEX( organisers: Regent Exhibitions), one of the most successful guest events at Frankfurt base, has been a pioneering force for fourteen years. British customers are particularly complimentary about the functional nature of the halls and conference facilities on the Frankfurt exhibition grounds, which – thanks to its singular architecture – is also suitable for hosting a broad cross-section of events. The Messe Frankfurt exhibition grounds are located right at the heart of financial and business centre Frankfurt am Main and has excellent connections to all important transport routes. The effects of globalisation have
increased the significance of Messe Frankfurt’ s location even further, given that it is an advantageous meeting point for many companies including Europe, Asia and North America. A key city in the middle of Central Europe, Frankfurt can be reached quickly and easily from all over the world, with 62 per cent of all intercontinental flights passing through Frankfurt. With a light rail station situated on the Frankfurt exhibition grounds and an underground train connection at its City Entrance, Messe Frankfurt is directly connected to an environmentally friendly public transport system that takes the strain off the city’ s traffic. The venue is convenient for visitors and exhibitors alike with impressive infrastructure and some 250 hotels with over 44,300 beds, around 9,400 of which are in walking distance of the exhibition grounds and the Congress Center. This means that visitors and exhibitors can reach the exhibition grounds quickly and easily, and can return home without delay at the end of the event. ■■■
