Moscow : a capital choice
Moscow is the capital of the Russian Federation , administrative centre of the Central Federal District and the centre of the Moscow Region . As of January 1 , 2021 , the population of Moscow was 12,655,050 people . Historically , Moscow has had a wide range of industries in its territory : from food processing , consumer goods manufacturing , textile , woodworking industries , to the aviation , aerospace , automotive and chemical industries . There are many leading research institutes and several enterprises of the military-industrial complex .

Main exhibition venues 1 . The Expocentre Fairgrounds are situated on the Moscow River embankment , and the complex extends over a total exhibition area of 165,000sqm , 105,000sqm of it indoors . Expocentre has nine pavilions , with their areas ranging from 800sqm up to 12,000sqm . There are 39 halls with capacities ranging from 50 to 500 people .
2 . VDNH , to the north of the centre , covers 325 hectares , and boasts historical pavilions , arches , museums , ponds , parks , fountains and sculptures . It has 49 cultural heritage sites and the exhibition facilities include 15 pavilions of between 100sqm to 24,000sqm . Visitors can also see the restored Soviet pavilion from Expo 67 in Montreal ( now the Moscow Pavilion ). The complex also has 40 conference venues able to host from between 20 and 700 people .
3 . Crocus Expo IEC offers an indoor exhibition area totalling 366,100sqm and an outdoor exhibition area of 219,000sqm . The complex has 19 pavilions and the Crocus Congress Centre offers 52 conference halls , including the flexible Crocus Congress Hall that brings together 36 conference halls with an option to build up rooms of any configuration and size . Crocus Expo has been used to hosting 350 events annually and up to 10 million visitors a year .

Expocentre owns a multifunctional exhibition and conference venue in central Moscow ( mentioned above ) and has a portfolio of international shows covering key industries . These shows are supported by the Russian federal executive authorities and national industry associations .
