Ufa

Ufa is the capital of the Republic of Bashkortostan which has a population of just over four million people , including 1,125,933 living in the capital .
Local expertise The economy is diverse and specialises in manufacturing and , primarily , oil refining . The Republic ranks first among the constituent entities of the Russian Federation for oil refining , gasoline production , diesel fuel production , cattle stock , milk and honey production . The key oil refineries are Bashneft-UNPZ , Bashneft-Novoil and Bashneft-Ufaneftekhim .
Chemistry and petrochemistry are also key sectors , with Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat , Ufaorgsintez , Shkapovskoye and Tuymazinskoye GPP being the major players .
In terms of oil production , Bashneft-Dobycha LLC , is the leading company . The Republic ’ s oil refining complex is one of the largest in Europe .
Mechanical engineering and metalworking and the building materials sector are also prominent in the local economy .
Major events Ufa has played host to the BRICS and SCO Summit 2015 ; the International Children ’ s Games 2019 and to the Russia – Islamic World Forum 2019 . Two ICCA qualifying major events for international associations have been held in the city over the past five years and the 47th International Apimondia Beekeeping Congress is planned to be held in Ufa in 2022 .
Main specialised venues VDNH-EXPO is a multifunctional exhibition complex spread over 13,600sqm . It has four exhibition halls and a Congress hall able to seat 317 people .
At Toratau Congress Hall there are 14 multifunctional conference halls with a capacity for 50-300 people and 4,000sqm of exhibition space . There is a concert hall seating 745 people .
Congress and chain hotels Ufa has 10 congress hotels , each with at least one hall able to host 100 people or more .
The exhibition organiser in the regin is Bashkir Exhibition Company . Its main projects are :

• Gas . Oil . Technology Ufa International Airport offers direct regular flights to 16 foreign cities ( 2019 ).

Kaliningrad

Kaliningrad city is also the administrative centre of the wider Kaliningrad Region , which is the westernmost regional centre of the Russian Federation . The regional population is just over one million people .
Local expertise Key economic and industrial sectors include Mining ( amber ), Industrial fishing ( ports in Kaliningrad , Pionersky and Svetly ), and Food , Furniture and the Electrical industries .
Major events and venue Major events staged in the city include the International Economic Forum of the Amber Industry , AMBERFORUM ; FIFA World Cup 2018 matches and the Kant Congress ( scheduled for 2024 ). Two ICCA qualifying events have been held in the city over the past five years .

The Baltic-Expo Exhibition Centre offers 3,000sqm of indoor space and 5,000sqm of outdoor space . Its conference hall seats 85 .
