EW explores some regional news highlights in the global exhibitions industry
Europe – As hundreds of global leaders gathered in London on 19 September to mark the life and work of Queen Elizabeth II , Britain honoured its late monarch with a state funeral watched by millions around the world and which involved hundreds of events professionals .
Queen Elizabeth ’ s 70 years on the throne and “ lifelong sense of duty and dedication to her people ” were commemorated in a service in Westminster Abbey with 2,000 guests , before a private committal service was held at St George ’ s Chapel in Windsor .
North America – IMEX Group has introduced a new education programme for its Las Vegas show this October , themed ‘ Pathways to Clarity ’. It will feature four tracks , reduced from 10 .
“ In creating our education programme for IMEX America this year , we ’ ve aimed for radical simplicity ,” said Carina Bauer , CEO of IMEX Group . “ We know that meeting industry professionals are seeking clarity . This year ’ s learning sessions are designed to cut to the heart of the biggest issues in business and personal growth .”
Asia – Texcare Asia & China Laundry
Expo 2022 has become the latest trade fair in China to be deferred due to Covid-19 restrictions .
The 2022 edition of the fair had been scheduled to take place 28 – 30 September at the Ningbo International Conference and Exhibition Center . It will now be deferred . New dates are expected .
Organisers say they made the decision in order to prioritise the safety of attendees and to support the government ’ s pandemic control measures .
Europe – A partnership between epIQ
Creative Group , a demand generation marketing agency , and Germany ’ s rooom Enterprise Metaverse Solutions . has been announced . The partnership aims to develop virtual environments for business events and at associations and organisations that produce conventions and trade shows . rooom ’ s metaverse technology lets convention and trade show organisers create 3D interactive experiences , augmented reality ( AR ), and virtual reality ( VR ).
