2023 , a platform connecting the global microelectronics ecosystem
• October 2023 : KFS 2023 ( Kaohsiung Food Show ), the most international and largest food exhibition in Southern Taiwan .
To connect with the global MICE industry and enhance the impact of Taiwan ’ s MICE industry , Taiwan ’ s Bureau of Foreign Trade and Taiwan External Trade Development Council ( TAITRA ) will host the International Elite Forum , one of the biggest celebrations in the global exhibition community , and the Asian MICE Forum ( AMF ), the annual regional MICE event since 2006 , in June and September respectively . Both events will gather leaders in the MICE industry to share their insights on topics such as : leading trends , future-forward ways of doing business , new exhibition business opportunities , MICE ESG and sustainability practices .
Unwavering commitment to sustainability Sustainability has long been the focus of Taiwan ’ s MICE industry . During the epidemic , the government and the MICE industry of
Taiwan have never stopped creating a safe and secure exhibition environment ahead of time . Taiwan ’ s first expo facility to gain ISO 20121 certification spotlights sustainability . All effort was made to have Hall 1 of Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center ( TaiNEX1 ) become Taiwan ’ s first exhibition centre to win ISO 20121 certification , followed by Hall 2 ( TaiNEX2 ) receiving the certification since May 2020 . To achieve this , a great drive was undertaken to embrace sustainable practices in conformity with the principles of ISO 20121 event sustainability management . These efforts touched upon every social , environmental and economic activity , and were applied during the build-up and servicing of venues for conferences , exhibitions and events .
Furthermore , to follow the key trend of sustainable MICE , TAITRA , together with the Bureau of Foreign Trade ( Taiwan ), UFI , and KPMG Taiwan , has jointly proposed the ‘ Taiwan MICE Sustainability White Paper ’ to provide a practical framework for sustainable MICE operation .
The White Paper covers major sustainability trends such as UN SDGs and ESG . It introduces a ‘ SIRCO ’ framework , which includes five principles : Sustainability , Impact , Resilience , Collaboration and Ownership . Taiwan develops the whole guidelines based on these five principles , to serve as guidance for sustainable MICE actions , and we hope that the White Paper will become a sustainable model for the international MICE industry through the development and implementation of the SIRCO framework .
Taiwan is here with open arms to welcome you to witness the resurgence of its MICE events after a long wait . Taiwan offers tremendous business opportunities , with the best equipped venues and will make you profitable . Let Taiwan take your events to greater heights and let ’ s all meet in Taiwan .
