Paving the way to new achievements together
he global exhibition industry has certainly
T increased momentum again and the recent UFI Congress in Oman illustrated that , apart from the key global trends in both Covid-19 control and the economy , it is our industry professionals who are instrumental in the efforts to put our sector back centre stage . UFI MD and CEO Kai Hattendorf ’ s acclaim for some of these leaders , in his page 9 column , is apposite as we look for inspiration to take us into new horizons .
One of the other exhibition insititutional stalwarts over the years has been the European Major Exhibiton Centres Association ( EMECA ), now celebrating its 30- year anniversary . Read all about its genesis and future aims on pages 18-19 , as its president Ricard Zapatero shares some key insights in our interview .
This issue has a strong focus on Asia , where approaches to running shows varies widely , from China , through Korea and Hong Kong , to Taiwan and Malaysia . And our resident recruitment guru Trevor Foley also pitches in with some market insights for the region ( page 31 ).
There is fresh industry research from Globex to mull over ( pages 45-47 ) and a report ( page 43 ), on COP27 and our industry ’ s important contribution to the debate in Sharm El-Sheikh .
As we move towards a New Year break and festivities , let us celebrate being back on the road and back to business . Let us continue our close co-operation to ensure that road leads to a sustainable and peaceful future for us all .
