From the holistic to the individual approach , AWE has been meticulous in overseeing installation of the world ’ s first three-in-one disinfection channel ‘ CLeanTech ’. The installation helps to sanitise each visitor ’ s outfits and carryon items in just 12 seconds .
AWE has also used advanced botanical air purification technology to sanitise the crowd environment , as well as Aegis Intelligence , a patented photocatalysis formula that features an anti-virus coating effective for up to 12 months .
AsiaWorld-Expo even has its own intelligent sterilisation robot ( ISR ) geared up and programmed for the sterilisation effort . It is equipped with multiple disinfection modes , and features ultraviolet light steriliser , 360-degree disinfectant spray-heads and

air filtration ( HEPA ), which can sterilise up to 99.99 % of bacteria . The ISR is already patrolling a regular beat and sterilising the halls at AWE , and is very much in action during move-in and move-out periods for events , ensuring that the air and all surfaces are fully sanitised .
AWE is also helping its clients benefit from the subsidy support on offer to organisers from the HKSAR Government . Funding worth more than HK $ 1bn ( US $ 131m ) is available for organisers of exhibitions with over 1,200sqm of exhibiting area , and to international conventions with over 400 participants ( at least 50 % of whom must come from outside Hong Kong ). The scheme includes a 100 % venue rental subsidy for events to be held at AWE in the coming year . Organisers with postponed events can benefit from the scheme , too , by confirming their revised schedule within the promotional period . To further support the MICE industry , AsiaWorld-Expo would offer extra incentive or sponsorship for new shows .

Air Travel Bubble takes flight
The HKSAR government has welcomed more good news with the agreement establishing a bilateral Air Travel Bubble ( ATB ) with Singapore from early December . Travellers under the ATB are not be subject to any quarantine or Stay- Home Notice requirements under certain conditions , i . e . travellers would need to have negative test results in both cities and travel on dedicated flights . Hong Kong is in discussion with more cities about similar cooperation , including Japan , Thailand , Vietnam , Malaysia and New Zealand . Let ’ s hope the news heralds a positive and better year in 2021 .
