KINTEX is recognized as a leading exhibition center by winning both UFI and ICCA Marketing Award

KINTEX ’ S QUARANTINE SYSTEM WAS ADOPTED AND PRESENTED AS THE GLOBAL STANDARD
KINTEX , the largest convention centre in South Korea , has become the first in the world to receive the marketing awards of both the global association of the exhibition industry , UFI , and now also from the International Congress and Convention Association ( ICCA ).
This year , KINTEX was one of five ICCA members recognised under the theme ‘ Leadership in Changing Times ’ during the 59th ICCA Congress held in Kaohsiung , Taiwan , 3 November .
KINTEX director of convention marketing Frank Yang presented the venue ’ s innovative framework for reopening the venue during the pandemic , a framework which has also been used in many other venues and destinations around the world .
In particular , KINTEX ’ s quarantine system was adopted as a model example in the Covid-19 quarantine manual jointly issued by UFI , ICCA and AIPC ( International Association of Convention Centres ) and presented as the global standard .
Earlier this year , KINTEX received global attention by safely and successfully holding an exhibition for only the second time in the world amid the Covid-19 pandemic . Although 186xhibition and conventions have held since 8 May and drawn 540,000 visitors , no confirmed cases of Covid-19 occurred due to the thorough quarantine system , despite the fact that a couple of confirmed have visited the events . KINTEX ’ s infection prevention system was also adopted as a best practice by the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention ( KCDC ).
FURTHER INVESTMENT AND EXPANSION PLAN
• Hybrid Event Studio & Video Teleconference Center KINTEX has actively invested in technologies to adapt to the new normal .
KINTEX has launched a Hybird Event Studio at the Grand Ballroom . All cutting edge meeting technology is in place for both live and virtual events including High definition LED screen , 4K cameras , Hologram projection device , VR / AR video transmission system and entertainment lighting and PA systems . This facility enables event organizers to host more than 300 delegates at the venue while keeping social distance , whilst also live streaming to an unlimited number of

KINTEX Video Teleconferencing Center is designed to support trade shows held in KINTEX as it becomes difficult for overseas buyers to visit Korea due to the spread of COVID19 . KINTEX will support business meetings between exhibitors and overseas buyers through one-stop video conference service .
• The 3 rd Phase of Expansion on track The 3 rd phase of expansion is proceeding as planned . When the expansion project , which is presently underway , is completed by 2024 , the event space will be expanded from the current 108,000sqm to 180,000sqm making KINTEX one of the 30 largest exhibition centres in the world .
In the expanded facility , a multipurpose event hall , conference facilities , and organizer / visitor convenience facilities will be built , and a passage with moving walks will be installed to secure
connectivity with the existing facilities and GTX ( Great Train eXpress ) station which will connect KINTEX and Samseong ( Business Hub in Seoul ) in 17 minutes ( open in 2023 ).
