suppliers to Chilean importers . We followed up with four ‘ Taste of California ’ missions to virtually connect state-based suppliers to buyers in the UK , India , Hong Kong , and Australia / New Zealand . This year , in addition to a robust schedule of in-person expos in South America , our LATAM office is leading a live Agricultural Trade Mission in Santiago .
Such innovations earned us an ‘ E-Star ’ award for export promotion from the US Department of Commerce in 2021 . We had previously earned the President ’ s E-Award in 2012 .
We cultivate co-operative relationships with Cabinet offices involved in US trade policy because we ’ re all in the business of growing America ’ s share of the export economy . Whether it ’ s Agriculture , Commerce , Defence , State , or Transportation , it ’ s important for us to work together to help our exhibitors and stakeholders generate new business overseas and create more jobs back home . These connections are especially valuable to small- and mediumsized enterprises ( SMEs ) that may not have the in-house resources of a multi-national prime contractor .
A corollary to creating jobs is finding people to do the work , which is why our brand of advancing global trade extends beyond our exhibitors to a wider network of public and privatesector advocates . As industries and supply chains struggle to attract skilled workers , we ’ ve sharpened the focus of our corporate social responsibility ( CSR ) efforts to inspire and empower the future workforce .
Every country we work in – at least 50 over our 60-year history – is facing the same challenges to prepare young people for the future . Our lead CSR initiative , the Astronaut Al Worden Endeavour
Scholarship , connects with worldwide interest in space to promote science , technology , engineering , and maths careers .
The programme honours its namesake Worden , pilot of the Apollo 15 Command Module Endeavour , for his lifelong commitment to STEM education . Al was a great friend who , in his role as our USA Partnership Pavilion STEM Ambassador from 2015 until his passing in 2020 , helped strengthen the alignment of our trade show services with our clients ’ business objectives , including helping to build their reputations as great employers ! In communities that host events we represent , the Kallman Foundation partners with space , industry , and education leaders to select ‘ Mission Teams ’ from their countries for an all-expenses paid , week-long , hands-on astronaut training experience at the US Space and Rocket Center ’ s renowned Space Camp in Huntsville , AL .
Since we launched Endeavour with Al and his fellow astronauts Walt Cunningham ( Apollo 7 ) and Charlie Duke ( Apollo 16 ) at the 2019 International Paris Air Show , the programme has awarded

scholarships to students and educators representing Australia , Bahrain , Chile , France , the UAE , UK , US and Singapore .
Looking back at our first 60 years , and now turning our focus to the future , the constant in our vision is our values . My dad passed away in 2020 , but the six pillars on which he founded the company in 1963 — Community , Partnership , Resilience , Innovation , Enterprise , and Service — are still the backbone of our brand .
When we talk about advancing global trade , it ’ s more than the transaction of goods and services between countries . We ’ re talking about connecting people to build strong sustainable business relationships around the world . That ’ s not a transaction , it ’ s an investment , and if the past decades are any indication , we ’ re in it for the long haul .
Tom Kallman , president and CEO of Kallman Worldwide , is a former United States Air Force F-15 pilot and instructor who landed in his father ’ s trade show business in 1989 and has never stopped looking forward . EW
