The more exhibitions in areas of high professionalism and internationality , especially those related to big health , modern finance , and high-tech , that are held in Macao , the relevant practitioners in Macao can have early access to cutting-edge information and establish business networks for related industries in Macao . This can play a significant role in promoting the development of key industries in Macao , and extend the exhibition industry chain .
For example , the 14th International Infrastructure Investment and Construction Forum , which concluded in early June , gathered more than 3,000 elites in the infrastructure sector from more than 60 countries and regions , enabling Macao ’ s sector to get or place orders on the first day of the event . It proves that the MICE platform is effective in terms of facilitating new business .
As an important platform for trade and economic co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking countries , Macao has maintained good bilateral co-operation with nine Portuguese-speaking countries . By aggregating information , services , products , talents , and business networks of these countries , it can initiate co-operation in different fields , such as exhibitions and trade , to deepen economic and trade exchanges . With this relationship , it is not difficult to find elements of Portuguese-speaking countries in Macao ’ s exhibition activities . Taking the 14th International Infrastructure Investment and Construction Forum as an example again , in addition to the index report reflecting the infrastructure development of Portuguesespeaking countries , a parallel forum on China- Portuguese-speaking Countries ’ Infrastructure Co-operation and Green Development was also held , with many guests from those countries signing contracts on projects related to PSCs .
Based on the effectiveness of ‘ attracting investment through exhibitions ’ and the ‘ multiplier effect ’ of the exhibition industry driving peripheral industries , IPIM will jointly establish an Exhibition Bidding Support Working Group with the industry , venue operators , and integrated resort and leisure companies in 2023 . They will combine the characteristics and customer networks of each party , and , with the help of industry organisations , jointly attract and bid for international or regional themed exhibition activities to be held in Macao , actively cultivating the new business models of ‘ industry + MICE ’.
