The new kid on the Strip

Stephanie Selesnick runs both the road warrior and the event organiser rule over the new giant kid on the Vegas Strip
esorts World Las Vegas is a US $ 4.3bn venue opening on the north side of The Strip on 24 June . I had a chance to visit the 88-acre property in the midst of construction in May . My first impression : it ’ s HUGE ! Secondly , as the first gaming / resort property to open on the Las Vegas strip in 10 years , technology plays a huge part in the visitor experience . Lastly , the amount of space given over for B2B events is expansive .
There are three hotels within the 3,500 guest rooms and suites campus : The Las Vegas Hilton , Conrad Las Vegas and Crockfords Las Vegas , the highest-end luxury brand from Hilton . All have separate entrances . Two things that immediately differentiate this property from others on The Strip are floor to ceiling windows open to the gaming floor and hotel elevators located away from the casino . Check-in may be done on an app or guests can check in the traditional way . All room keys will be QR codes available through the hotel app . The 100,000sq . ft ( 9,290sqm )
Events Center is still being built and is set to open in the fourth quarter of 2022 . Meeting space is plentiful with an additional 250,000sq . ft . comprised of a combination of ballrooms and breakout rooms and the 5,000-seat Theatre at Resorts World ( also booked for residencies for Celine Dion , Katy Perry , Luke Bryant and more ).
Amenities I appreciate as a road warrior : 1 . There are over 40 food and beverage choices on property – all available for in-room delivery . 2 . All guest rooms and suites have refrigerators that are part mini-bar and part open refrigerator . Great for when you want to chill your own water , drinks or keep leftovers . 3 . Not having to go through the casino to get to the room . So great after a long day on the show floor . 4 . Tons of electrical outlets in the guest rooms including multiple USB ports by the beds . 5 . Comfortable rooms with views of The Strip , the mountains surrounding Las Vegas , or the Vegas Valley itself . 6 . Generous bathroom counter space .
7 . Lots of live music will be featured throughout the campus . Especially post-Covid , live music isn ’ t an amenity , it ’ s a necessity !
Amenities event organisers will appreciate : 1 . Meeting rooms are 100 steps from the guest room elevators , not miles . 2 . Latest in tech tools , including signage . 3 . Wi-Fi is included in the resort fee – for up to four devices per room . It also works in the meeting rooms ! ( In the US , Wi-Fi prices for event spaces can be exorbitant .) 4 . Lots of places to hold food and beverage functions ( and lots of food / drink options ). 5 . Floor to ceiling windows , so delegates can see daylight when on breaks . 6 . Close to the Las Vegas Convention Center and Sands Expo . Plans are in place for Elon Musk ’ s Boring Company to extend their underground Tesla shuttle system to Resorts World . 7 . When the special events centre opens , it ’ s column-free .
