Middle East – Dubai World Trade
Centre ( DWTC ) has announced 2022 annual results indicating strong performances across its businesses and a growth in exhibitions and events of 39 % in 2022 .
DWTC hosted 244 exhibitions and events in 2022 and 1.98m delegates with a robust visitation growth of 29 %. The dynamic return to form for the MICE industry in 2022 is reflective of DWTC ’ s strong business portfolio and its ability to attract over 37,000 exhibiting companies ( 50 % increase from 2021 ), of which 72 % were international .
Europe – Women in Exhibitions ( WIE and WIEN ) founder , Oana Cipca , has announced that the first ever WIE World Summit will take place in Maastricht , The Netherlands , 13 – 14 June 2023 at the MECC venue .
The theme of the summit is ‘ Beyond Bias : Breaking Business Barriers ’, and will represent a unique opportunity to bring WIE members and non-members together to listen and learn . The summit programme will be tailored to help identify and overcome the biases that block women and hinder their career progression so that they can seize their full potential as female professionals and industry leaders .
Americas – US-based Allied Universal , a security and facility services provider , has announced the acquisition of Landmark Event Staffing Services , a US event security and guest services company supporting a wide range of venue and event clients nationally .
“ This acquisition supports Allied Universal ’ s growth agenda for our Event Services business which continues its trajectory expansion in the US ,” said Allied Universal Global chairman and CEO Steve Jones . In 2022 , Allied Universal announced 13 acquisitions – eight in North America and five internationally ; these acquisitions are consistent with their growth strategy and expanding international presence .
