EW explores some regional news highlights in the global exhibitions industry
Europe – Italian Exhibition Group
( IEG ), with international interests in Dubai , China , Brazil , Singapore and the United States , has reported , 16 March , 2022 financial results including revenues of € 161m and an increase in turnover of € 87.6m .
Revenues from organised events were € 88.2m , an increase of € 49.7m compared to 2021 . IEG CEO Corrado Peraboni said : “ IEG Group closes 2022 with excellent results that mark the substantial recovery compared to the pre-pandemic scenario , recording , in the second half of the year , a better performance in terms of turnover than in 2019 , as a result of solid organic growth in all business lines and an impressive improvement in margin .”
Americas – NürnbergMesse is expanding westward with news that the first embedded world North America will be held in the ‘ Silicon Hills ’ of Austin , Texas , the heart of the US computer and software industry , 8-10 October 2024 . Apple , Dell and Google are concentrated in the area .
The move by the German organiser will see the new edition follow on from the premiere of embedded world China in Shanghai , 14-16 June 2023 . The North American edition thus becomes the second international offshoot of this successful Nuremberg-based exhibition . It will work in future with WEKA FACHMEDIEN Gmbh .
Asia – The 14th Asia Pharma Expo
2023 ( APE 2023 ) and Asia Lab Expo 2023 were successfully held over three days at the ICCB , Dhaka in Bangladesh in early March .
The international exhibitions cover complete pharma manufacturing technologies and drew 658 exhibiting companies from 32 countries . Organisers said there had been 12,000 trade visitors to the shows .
The Bangladesh pharmaceutical industry is expected to grow to be worth around $ 6bn by 2025 with an absolute growth of 114 % from 2019 levels , while the pharma exports of Bangladesh are likely to top $ 450m by 2025 .
Europe – France ’ s meeting and events industry continues to consolidate its representative associations .
Shortly after the merger with LEADS , an association bringing together stand design and event design professionals , French meetings industry council UNIMEV and PRESTALIANS , have announced their merger as of 1 April 2023 .
It is understood that negotiations are being conducted to bring other groupings into the new fold , while preserving the particularities and expertise of each association . UNIMEV currently boasts over 300 member companies .
