Today DWTC plays host to 600 events annually across key sectors. DWTC at 40 his March, Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) marked its 40th anniversary since opening. During those four decades, the DWTC has hosted over 5,000 business and MICE events and its calendar of business events has generated AED200bn (US$54.45bn) of w w w.exhibitionworld.co.uk total economic output. The Emirate’s founding father, Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, triggered the city’s rapid metamorphosis in just four decades and the 39-storey, Sheikh Rashid Tower (commonly known as Trade Centre Tower) that started its journey as the tallest structure in the Arab world, has become home to regional and international businesses within the multi- dimensional 120,000sqm DWTC complex. Today DWTC plays host to 600 events annually across key sectors and new Anniversary landmark properties developed by DWTC are also bolstering the emirate’s ability to consistently attract international businesses, as well as long-term foreign investment. This growth is set to intensify, largely due to the opportunity that Expo 2020 Dubai presents, as the city prepares to welcome 20m visitors.
