In 2022 , the average cost per employed FTE approached the € 100k mark with a significant increase from 2019 . Unsurprisingly , labour costs and productivity per head varied significantly across the companies analysed , with venues that also organise events boasting the highest productivity ratios .
The report conducts an analysis of event KPIs across the top 40 organisations in our industry and reveals that in 2022 , compared to 2019 , net rented space of the top 40 declined by 25 %, a slightly better performance than the overall market ; the number of exhibitors decreased by 30 %, and the number of visitors was 35 % lower . On average the revenue per net rented sqm increased between 2019 and 2022 . When it comes to industry trends , the report makes a case for organisers and venue operators to adopt a valuebased models that enhance customer experience and value proposition .
