Global Snapshot Germany - New figures released by AUMA, the association of the German trade fair industry, show that exhibitions in Germany had an average of 1.5% more exhibitors than their previous editions. They also showed an increase of around 1% more stand space. Visitor numbers, on the other hand, showed a slight decrease of around half a per cent. These growth rates occurred despite considerably greater uncertainty about the domestic economy and foreign trade in Germany. w w w.exhibitionworld.co.uk Dubai - UFI, the global association of the exhibition industry, has announced its regional conference in the Middle East and Africa region will take place on 8-9 April at Dubai World Trade Centre. The theme for the 2019 conference will be ‘Embracing change, looking forward to the future’, and the event will bring together eventprofs from the MEA region to discuss opportunities related to ongoing changes in the industry. Topics will include digital impact , exponential change, and talent management. Adelaide - The Exhibition and Event Association of Australasia (EEAA) Board of Directors visited Adelaide for the association’s final board meeting of the year, and a South Australian industry roundtable. They discussed a range of issues including sustainability, infrastructure investment and business events’ role in the South Australian economy. EEAA Chief Executive Joyce DiMascio said the visit to Adelaide enabled the EEAA community to discuss Adelaide’s growing success leveraging business events. Issue 1 2019 9
