The original launch for the
Event Industry Insights App , developed by The Power of Events , had 15 dates scheduled to visit key industry events and university research partners across the four nations . The audience learned more about event career opportunities , before enjoying the venue ’ s hospitality while networking . Tour stops before Belfast had included the EICC in Edinburgh and Cardiff Metropolitan University , plus cities including London , Manchester , Sheffield , Birmingham , Bournemouth , Leeds and Ipswich . Rick Stainton , founder of The Power of Events says : “ For students , the main focus has been on the resource that our platform provides in terms of insight and understanding of how the events industry works across seven core sectors . understanding the breadth and range of their industry while downloading and registering on the Event Industry Insight App . They ’ ve also understood the importance of sharing best practices to ensure that our industry is respected and valued as a world-class creative sector .” The app , which was suggested by the industry itself during the scoping and development work for The Power of Events , is designed to improve the breadth of reach and quality of data . It will help generate credible insights into many key issues – from sustainability to accessibility , and DEI to career development routes . “ It ’ s a digital tool aimed primarily at helping industry associations and university partners with their research projects . Everyone agrees that our complex industry provides multiple data points from each sector but that this often creates a limited understanding of the broader ecosystem that we operate in ,” continues Stainton . “ There is a clear need to provide the means of producing a crossindustry picture looking at insights and trends . The
Event Industry Insight App is the solution to this problem , providing scale , representation and a dynamic user experience .”
