Irn Bru Carnival - QD Events: The 2018-19 IRN-
BRU Carnival marketing campaign delivered a
record audience of 163,123 visitors – the highest
visitor numbers since 1999 – and its highest ever
net ticket revenue of £1,576,716. This was achieved
by understanding the needs and expectations of its
visitors and reviewing previous campaigns to make
strategic adjustments. In doing so, QD Events delivered
a campaign that comprised print, outdoor, broadcast
and digital media as well as PR and social media, and
focused the campaign on the elements that would
deliver the target footfall and revenue, as well as a first-
class visitor experience.
Judges Comment: The team set out clear objectives
on growth and experience and delivered on all fronts,
re-invigorating an event that has been a mainstay of
Glasgow for many years and delivering excellent results
