EDITOR’S LETTER
The next
generation
I
t was fantastic attending the EN 30 Under Thirty launch event and meeting this year’s
30. What an engaged, insightful and talented group of people.
It’s always been an interesting experience reading through the entries as a fellow
under-30. There are so many young people in this industry just bursting with talent,
who have risen to the challenges ahead of them and ultimately risen up the ranks.
What unites the 2018 30 Under Thirty, and indeed every year that has come before
them, is their genuine love and passion for this industry.
How many industries can claim to have kept the attention of such a talented group of
flighty millennials?
It’s easy to find negative stories in the news about this age group. They’re lazy,
always on their phones and – according to some sources – responsible for the cold-
hearted destruction of everything from napkins to the very concept of democracy.
One glance at this year’s 30 Under Thirty will assure you that you need not fear. As
we all know this is an industry worth billions, and these are the people who build it,
market it, sell it, design it and make sure that it actually works. And one day they will
run it.
Over the coming year we will be getting to know the faces in this supplement a lot
better, and I, for one, can’t wait to get started.
