Clarion CEO Lisa Hannant was named this year ’ s exhibitions industry pioneer .
The EN Pioneer Award is not open for nomination and is assigned directly by the editor of Exhibition News .
These individuals are selected for their innovation , bravery , intuition , foresight , self-belief and contribution to the industry .
Speaking after receiving the award , Hannant who succeeded Russell Wilcox as CEO of Clarion Events in September said : “ There are so many people that have won this award in the past , people that I ’ ve admired and who have made a huge contribution to the industry . To be amongst those people is a real honour , a privilege and one that I ’ m incredibly flattered , but also highly appreciative of .
“ I just hope that this is the beginning of my pioneering years , not the end . I ’ ve got lots to do . I ’ ve been given a huge responsibility in leading Clarion and I relish all the opportunities and the challenges .”

Chief executive of ExCeL London Jeremy Rees said Hannant was “ a true pioneer who ’ s achieved a huge amount and this is only the beginning .”
Praising Hannant ’ s contribution to the industry , Mary Larkin , Americas CEO at Arc , described her as : “ Smart , rational and generous with her time ” Geoff Dickinson , CEO of dmg events added : “ She is super smart , very successful works right the way throughout the industry . But she is always pleasant , always nice to deal with and shares terrific insights .”
