Following Hyve ’ s exit from its Russian business earlier this year it has now disposed of its Ukrainian business , Premier Expo , to the managing director Anatoly Sushon . The arrangements , which include earnout consideration of up to £ 3m are dependent on future profitability and Hyve has agreed to continue to support the business with funding of up to £ 1.2m in a show of support for the Premier team and their families . venture accelerates their expansion into Mexico as well as providing a gateway to North America . IEG was formed in 2016 through the merger of the Rimini and Vicenza fairgrounds and , as well as Italy and Mexico , also operates in Brazil , Dubai and China .
In a further move , IEG has launched a German subsidiary – IEG Deustchland – with the aim of establishing relationships with German associations and strengthening their ability to deliver German exhibitors to their Italian shows .
We have “ grinding wars ” in Germany as private German exhibition organiser AFAG have sold Grindtec - the international trade fair for grinding technology founded in 1998 to Leipziger Messe . Grindtec has been the subject of strong competition with the launch of Grindinghub by the German Machine Tool Builders ’ Association in conjunction with Messe Stuttgart so now it ’ s Liepzig vs Stuttgart in the battle for the hearts and minds of this community .
UK In the UK , William Reed has acquired The London Coffee Festival from coffee industry specialists Allegra Group . William Reed already has a stake in Allegra ’ s World Coffee Portal business
Venues Finally some venue news and a new entrant onto the China exhibition scene . Fira de Barcelona is taking over the management of Xuzhou Greenland Huaihai International Expo Center and Nanchang Greenland International Expo Center in partnership with construction company Greenland – Fira . They will be responsible for the commercial , technical , logistical and operational management of the venues which have a total exhibition area of around 240,000sqm and plans to organise up to 40 events over the next year . The joint venture is also designing a new venue of more than 100,000sqm in Shangqiu , which is expected to be operational from 2024 .
The move comes at a time when China ’ s Covid policy still creates uncertainty about when the countries exhibition sector will be allowed to open up but is part of wider internationalisation plans by Fira which will include co-organising events and the management of other venues worldwide . Fira ’ s existing overseas activity currently includes the organisation of 11 trade shows in various countries around the world in 2022 including the Smart City Expo World Congress . EN
