What is your ambition with the Bugbar and exhibitions ?
The objective is to dry-hire the Bugbar to enhance exhibition stands . There ’ s the option to add branding , to vinyl wrap the vans , to include LED screens showcasing what the client may desire . The Bugbars can feature a DJ , serve sample drinks , or be used as a hub for promotional handouts , and when added to a stand makes an impact at an exhibition . The Bugbars are trailers , replicas of VWs , made of fibreglass and they are easy

to position with no engines , so perfect for both indoor and outdoor events whilst being better for the planet .
Why have you decided to move into corporate events in the exhibitions sector ?
The Bugbar business was launched in 2013 following a career in the entertainment industry , initially , before the explosion of street food vehicles , horse box bars , the private parties , weddings , and music festivals were the main operation . Now the demand from the corporate world has exploded from exhibiting at the NEC for VW , through to hosting a VIP area at the Grand Prix this year .

Following my visit to International Confex , I was very excited to see the opportunity to offer our ‘ brand a Bug ’ concept . In essence bringing a bit of ‘ cool ’ to a stand . The iconic VWs conjure up a ‘ feel good ’ and nostalgic feeling . The perfect vehicle to feature on a stand .
What are you most looking forward to about this change in your career ?
Having worked with so many weddings and intense bar services , I ’ m excited to focus on the ‘ dry hire ’ option and predominantly the DJ , Discobug offering . We are looking to double the level of bookings for

2022 . In addition , we are discussing a franchise in Bristol , the Bugbar business is booming . The company is in a growth stage and by focusing on our niche we are flourishing . I ’ m also looking forward to expanding the behind-thescenes Bugbar team , after the setbacks of 2020 we are driving ahead .
