Nineteen Group acquires
Broden Media CloserStill Media acquires
eCommerce trade shows
Nineteen Group has announced that
it has acquired Broden Media Limited,
the organiser of The Emergency
Services Show and publisher of
Emergency Services Times magazine.
The acquisition of Broden Media
Limited adds another major event to
the Nineteen Group portfolio, as well
as a leading publication.
Broden Media Limited delivers the
annual The Emergency Services Show
at the NEC, this year taking place on
18-19 September in Hall 5.
It is a two-day event bringing
together all disciplines from the
emergency services sector to
discover innovative technologies
and operational solutions, share
their experiences and unite in their
collaborative approach to public
safety. The exhibition is in its 14th
year and features over 450 exhibiting
companies.
Nineteen Group CEO Peter Jones
said: “As Nineteen Group continues
to grow, I couldn’t think of a better
event than The Emergency Services
Show. It fits perfectly with our current
series of Security, Health and Safety,
Fire, Facilities and Disaster Response
events.” CloserStill Media, organiser of
eCommerce Expo in the UK as well as
eCommerce Expo Asia, has acquired
two eCommerce events taking place
in Barcelona and Madrid, Spain, from
organiser E World for an undisclosed
sum. The E World team, headed by
managing director Agustin Torres, has
joined CloserStill Media Tecnología in
Barcelona.
The company has also acquired the
1-2-1 eForum events held each year in
the Spring and Autumn, which host
Spain’s largest online retail buyers.
The shows in Spain become part of
CloserStill’s expanding portfolio of
enterprise technology events, which
includes events in London, Paris,
Frankfurt, Singapore and Hong Kong,
attended annually by more than
75,000 delegates, with over 1,200
speakers and 900 exhibitors.
CloserStill plans to expand its
technology events portfolio in Spain
with a roll-out of its international
technology brands from 2020.
Sophie Baker-Davis, head of
CloserStill’s technology portfolio,
said: “We are excited about the
opportunities in the Spanish
marketplace.
“The online retailing world is
making great strides in Spain. We
are delighted to be working with
E World to accelerate the growth
and importance of the eShows
to the e-commerce sector, and to
integrate them into our international
technology and e-commerce
network.”
“Running our larger events we are very
dependent on the pound-to-dollar exchange
rate and recently the pound dived to its lowest
rate in decades, which means that most US
guests costs have risen dramatically”
