Feature A view from the top In late March, EN brought together a group of senior event profs for a chance to network, debate and enjoy stunning surrounding at the first ever EN Leaders Summit. A t the heart of everything EN does is a desire to foster industry debate and discussion. It was with this is mind that we launched the inaugural EN Leaders Summit in Chamonix at the end of March 2019, with the help of our valued partners LiveBuzz and Rives d’Argentière. Bringing together top organisers and industry figures, the aim of the event was to facilitate open and honest industry discussion in stunning surroundings. The event was comprised of three off-the-record roundtable discussions, interspersed with chances to sample the delights of the French slopes and Chamonix’s spa facilities. The first discussion centred around the visitor experience, discussing elements like wayfinding and the visitor journey, the importance of feature areas and the different approaches of consumer vs. trade organisers. The second looked at exhibition businesses and how aspects of growth like standardisation and integration can be balanced with giving employees autonomy and the freedom to flourish in their roles. We also discussed the relative benefits of launching, geo-cloning and acquiring events. The final debate covered the ever-contentious question of the relationship between organisers and exhibition venue, (although sadly may not have solved it). EN The Venue Les Rives d’Argentière, Chamonix, a collection of four luxury chalets, provided the ideal platform for our roundtable debates. A sister-venue, Le Chalet, has just opened and offers stunning, uninterrupted views of Mont Blanc. The Name in EVENT HIRE 0800 458 5701 [email protected] Charles Wilson Engineers Ltd May — 39
