THE GIN TO MY TONIC BEETRADEX GETS PEOPLE
LAUNCHES IN GLASGOW BUZZING
Name: The Gin to My Tonic
Date: 13-15 March 2020
Where: SEC Centre
The Gin To My Tonic was born via
social media in January 2017 as a way
for best friends Emira Shepherd and
Paul Hudson-Jones to share ‘a love of all
things gin’. The Gin To My Tonic Show
was then launched in 2018 at Liverpool
Exhibition Centre.
The show features 50-60 gin brands,
with a collective over 200 gins that can
be sampled, along with other spirits
like vodka and rum. Visitors can attend
masterclasses about gin distilling, and
workshops about cocktail making. The
show also includes a variety of bars.
Each show varies as it showcases
local exhibitors, masterclasses and
workshops. The first-ever Glasgow show
will see representation of Scottish gin,
as well as local distilling and production
techniques, unique botanicals and
limited-edition releases.

Co-founder Paul Hudson-Jones
said: “This year will see us return to
Exhibition Centre Liverpool where we’ll
launching a new variant of The Gin To
My Tonic Show called The Christmas
Drinks Show. We are loving exploring
avenues beyond just events that enable
‘The Gin To My Tonic’ to reach a wider
audience.”
Digital City Festival aims to centre
‘collaboration, knowledge-sharing and
making meaningful connections’ within
the digital, marketing and tech sectors.
At the centre of the festival is the
Digital City Expo, which runs from 11-12
March and unites three industry-leading
exhibitions under one roof - Marketing
Show North, Tech Show North, and
eCommerce Show North.
The Digital City Expo’s key features
are exhibitors showcasing the latest
innovations, keynote speakers and
industry masterclasses, in addition to the
new for 2020 Media Zone.
The festival also hosts the Digital City
Awards, in addition to networking and
fringe events which focus on the impact
digital innovation can have on both
businesses and society as a whole.
Commercial marketing manager,
Charlie Benson, said: “The support for
year one of Digital City Festival has
been incredible. We have a Steering
Panel made up of the North’s digital
elite helping shape the festival, amazing
groups that have come forward to host
fringe events, as well as some incredible
sponsors and partners.”
What’s next?
Benson said: “We’re already thinking
about DCF2021 and plans to make it
bigger and better than year one. It will be
in February next year. Watch this space.”
Name: Beetradex
Date: 14 March 2020
Where: NAEC Stoneleigh
Beetradex was created by Tony Gray
and John Hayward, after they decided to
work together with the NAEC to create
an event for beekeeping manufacturers
and their customers.
The show has grown from 1,600
attendees in 2014, to a predicted 3,500
attendees for the 2020 show. The show
also attracts beekeepers from all over the
world, including those from Australia,
India, China, Korea, Norway and Europe.
Companies at the event are able to sell
their products not just to beekeepers, but
suppliers in the UK.
The event has a range of features,
including various lectures on beekeeping
and how it is changing, as well as
apprentice beekeeping, and a complete
manufacturing line for honey, which
is worth £4,500 worth and is imported
from Hungary.
What’s next?
Event director, Tony Gray, said: “We’re
thinking of branching out into organic
beekeeping more. We also want to spend
more time on people who want to get
into beekeeping. At the moment we have
established and commercial beekeepers
coming, but we want to put on more
lectures for those who want to start
beekeeping.”
