Welcome
The 'e' word
I
feel like the words ‘evolving’ and ‘evolution’ appear a
lot in Exhibition News. Of course, it might just be lazy
writing on my part, but I like to think it’s indicative of the
fluid and ever-changing nature of the exhibition industry.
Evolution implies positive change, and in the world
of exhibitions brands and businesses are morphing
constantly into new and exciting iterations.
This issue is no exception. In this month’s cover feature
(p20) Simon Foster, CEO of Comexposium, discusses
the international growth of the business, along with the
evolution of its events teams around the world.
Completely Group, previously a solely trade event
organiser, has taken a stride into the world of consumer
shows and is now launching a catapult initiative aimed at
supporting and investing in new events.
And, of course, the recent UFI European Conference
saw close analysis of what the exhibitions industry of the
future will look like.
I’ve come to the conclusion that, until the industry stops
its unrelenting brilliance and innovative thinking, I’ll have
no choice but to keep using the ‘e’ word.
The ball’s in your court, event profs.
Enjoy the issue,
