What are some key features
of TECA?
48,000sqm of world-class
multi-purpose event space
including, seven conference
suites, three exhibition halls,
nine meetings rooms, and a
superior 15,000 capacity arena,
the development also includes
33,000sqm subterranean space,
which can be transformed into
exhibition space. TECA offers
four times the exhibition space
available compared to the previous
exhibition space at AECC.
TECA also offers a hospitality
experience, which has never before
been offered in Aberdeen. This
includes, 16 luxury private suites,
an exclusive 50-seater show deck,
a VIP view lounge and a high end
150-seater restaurant, providing a
unique dining experience on event
nights.

around audience comfort, boasting
ergonomic seating, unrestricted
sight lines and plenty of natural
light to aid concentration.

sustainability credentials
A key objective of Aberdeen City
Council when delivering TECA was
to specify that it was built to the
highest environmental standards.
With over 29,000 trees and shrubs
planted on-site, TECA has been
designed to be living environment
to attract people and wildlife to
the area. TECA is also on course
to achieve BREEAM excellent
the world’s leading sustainability
assessment.
The site also boasts its own
energy centre, which uses local
food and garden waste, which is
then digested in an anaerobic plant
and the resulting hydrogen gas
is harvested and used to power
the energy centre which supplies
Heating, Cooling and Power not
only to TECA but also the on-site
What does the next year hold
for TECA?
Aberdeen’s narrative is changing
and TECA is at the forefront of that
change. The striking new complex
is almost ready, the new brand,
website and supporting collateral
have already played a key part in
communicating the message.
With TECA opening this
summer, the first exhibition to
be held at the venue will be SPE
Offshore Europe the largest oil
and gas exhibition in the Eastern
hemisphere. With the new venue
comes new opportunities, and SPE
Offshore Europe brings around
36,000 attendees, more than 900
exhibitors from international
market leaders to new innovative
companies.
The complex is set to attract
an additional 4.5 million visitors,
£113m of visitor spend by 2025, to
boost the local economy.
