My Working Life
with another role elsewhere. I was faced with
a hard decision and decided I had to make
a change. I got in contact and at the time
there was nothing available and the very next
day I got a phone call to say an opportunity
has come up and if I could come in for an
interview.
When I started at CloserStill I was
surrounded by people with and without
experience but there was something special
about this place, I didn’t know what it was
but I could feel it. I was welcomed and felt
very much a part of the team immediately.
The gym and football is how I let off steam. In
regards to football, my position is a centre-
back. As I used to play rugby when I was
younger, I don’t mind contact so I love a big
tackle. Firm but fair.
I recently got married and I don’t have any
children…yet

I was born in Lewisham Hospital and grew
up in Lewisham and Bromley.
My family is loud, together and a solid unit.
I have one brother and two sisters, I’m the
eldest. My parents always taught us from a
young age that family is everything and when
people let you down or turn their back on
you, family will always be there. That was the
motto then and it’s still the motto now.
At primary school I was known as the joker,
always smiling, laughing and always there to
help others.
My first job was as a crew member in
McDonalds.
I have met some amazing people along my
journey and I can honestly say from the
majority of my different places of work I still
keep in contact with old colleagues. I say
colleagues, but I class them as family now.
My current manager spoke to me before my
previous role and suggested that he felt it
would be something I would be able to do well
but I put the offer off and decided to go ahead

on entering the industry,
getting married and
making a positive
impression
My last holiday was with my wife in January to
Mauritius, which was also our honeymoon.
What I enjoy most about this industry
is helping others. I love to know that the
information I share is so clear and honest
that the attendee’s reasons for attending the
event are completely justified at the end of
the event.
I have experienced something different at
every event I have worked on. The first event
I had a group that had wrote a letter to let
me know they were looking for me to say hi
and then on the second day called my direct
office number to speak to my manager, who
then called me to say they are waiting at the
entrance for me and want to see me before
they leave to travel home.
At an event, there was a party for delegates
and on the second day I had people coming
up to me saying “I really liked your dance
moves last night”. The last show I worked on
I had delegates giving me hugs and thanking
me for getting them to come along to event. I
like to make a positive impression on people
and feel humbled to know that they will go
away and remember me. EN
