here's a slightly unintended theme to this issue, and
one that I didn't pick up until seeing it as a finished
whole. The theme is something that anyone who works in
events knows well – teamwork.
The industry is built on friendship and trust at every
level, it's at the core of the power of face-to-face. In this
month's cover feature (p16) we hear how the Association
of Event Venues has enabled venue professionals to share
ideas and speak with one voice on industry issues.
In our latest EN Roundtable (p28), which was all
about geo-cloning, we discussed the undeniable power
of association, destination and government partnerships
when launching a new show edition.
And, of course, when running events like Media 10's
Clerkenwell Design Week (p33), working with trusted
supplier and partners is invaluable.
It might be a cliché that 'teamwork makes the dream
work', but it's undeniably true when it comes to events.
