The channel, launched in 2010, attracts a core audience of more than 850,000 around the world and receives two million episode views each month. Due to the channel’s popularity and the exponential growth of public interest in cleantech, Robert created Fully Charged Live – the leading event platform for promoting low-emission vehicles, renewables and smart technology. Silverstone Circuits, the home of the British Grand Prix, was chosen as the launch venue for the inaugural Fully Charged Live, because of its motorsport connections; track availability for showcasing new electronic vehicles; easily accessible location; impressive hosting facilities and its highly experienced dedicated events team. The event Fully Charged Live took place on 9-10 June 2018 and saw more than 6,000 attendees across the two days. The event hosted 18 live educational sessions, showcased more than fifty electric vehicles - including the new Nissan Leaf and the hotly-anticipated Jaguar I-PACE – and saw more than 50 exhibitors demonstrate their renewable energy technology, such as solar, heat pumps and vehicle-to-grid chargers. Guests faced a seamless arrival into Hall One as tickets were purchased in advance online. On arrival, there was also a chance for visitors to win £1,000 in the daily prize draw at myenergi’s stand. The event was hosted in Hall One, Hall Two, Hall Three, Garage One and the January 2019 | exhibitionnews.co.uk Paddock. Hall Three, Garage One and the Paddock were set up as exhibition spaces, housing more than 50 exhibitors that showcased the best in renewable energy. Hall One and Hall Two each included theatres, seating up to 150 attendees each with extra guests choosing to stand and listen due to high demand. AV screens were used in the halls to support the expert panels which discussed renewable products and hot topics in the energy saving sector. Interactive entertainment from the Racing Bug – a brandable racing game provider for events – meant that visitors of all ages had an enjoyable and engaging experience during the show. Estimated visitor attendance was at 2,500 on Day One, however following an overwhelming response (nearly 4,000 arrived at our gates). SCL Catering reconfigured the catering element in the Hospitality Zone to ensure all visitors had the option to buy food and drinks throughout the event, covering a wide range of dietaries – including vegan/ vegetarian, gluten free, and dairy free etc. SCL Catering proactively provided the solution with tweaks to the in-house menu and service style ready for Day Two, whilst also enlisting additional external catering to ensure a wider range of food options – which was greatly received by those in attendance. The verdict Dan Caesar, director at Fully Charged, comments: “Silverstone was the ideal fit for the first Fully Charged Live show due to its central location and close connection to the fast-moving automotive industry and we look forward to returning to the venue for a bigger, busier and even better show next summer.”
