La cultura se puede definir como la manifestación de las ideologías, la espiritualidad, y hasta lo material que representa de una forma única y diferente a una región o parte del mundo, y así identificándolos como un grupo o comunidad unida, que es independiente. La cultura es un vínculo que puede conectarnos entre nosotros, ya seamos de la misma región o no, y además le muestra al mundo quiénes somos. La esencia de una comunidad se puede percibir a través de diversas representaciones culturales, como sus lenguas, el arte, en el cual se incluye la danza, el arte plástico, la música, entre otros, y también los valores, y las creencias, y todas se ven reflejadas en el estilo de vida y carácter de las personas que viven en dichas regiones, e influencian a los que se encuentran alrededor. Cada cultura es distinta, lo que hace que resalte entre todas, y existe una gran diversidad entre comunidades. La riqueza cultural es una parte muy importante de nuestra vida diaria, que nos ayuda a responder ciertas pregunta muy importantes como ¿Quiénes somos?, ¿De dónde venimos? y ¿Cuáles son nuestras raíces?
La riqueza cultural son los diversos "recursos valiosos" que nos identifican. La riqueza cultural alimenta nuestro sentido de pertenencia, lo cual significa sentirnos a gusto y representados por el lugar en el que vivimos. Nos hace sentir orgullosos y felices por la región que llamamos como nuestro hogar y provenimos ancestralmente. La cultura nos une, nos da identidad y forma gran parte de nuestro carácter, aunque no nos demos cuenta. También nos ayuda a descubrir una parte de nuestra historia como comunidad, como familia. Al perder esta cultura, perdemos una parte de nosotros, una parte de nuestra historia ancestral, y los conocimientos que ésta lleva.
This group is conformed by 12 people, whose names are: Enrique Peña, Lorenzo Becerra, Camila Sánchez, Lolita Álvarez, Ana Sofía Ossa Serrano, Isabela Pereira, Alejandra Araque, María Fajardo, Sofía Silva, and Sophia de la Rosa González. We all think this is a really important and interesting topic, because we learn about our own culture, and how to appreciate it.
Now we know that helping indigenous groups is possible, and that they are not as far away from us as we think they are from us. For example, there is an indigenous community living near us, in Bosa, and we had never even thought about it. We think the indigenous groups' situation is a topic that we all have to know about, so we can learn about where we came from, how their rights are being violated, how the loss of biodiversity impacts them and their life, how this factors affect our culture, and how we can directly or indirectly help them through their journey to gain the respect of all the people talking about local, national, and international aspects. The major reason we chose this topic, is because we believe we can make a change in the world by contributing and doing small actions to help the situation of the biodiversity and the indigenous groups.
