Bendigo ’ s Ulumbarra Theatre has to be one of the more interesting and totally unique locations for business events in Victoria
This exciting contemporary performance and events space was created in 2015 and features a state-of-the-art 1000-seat plenary space ( theatre ) and a host of ancillary rooms , foyers and courtyards , all within the walls of the Old Bendigo Gaol – a beautifully-preserved goldfields prison , which housed inmates for 150 years with the last of the prisoners leaving in 2004 !
Ulumbarra ’ s foyers retain the original perimeter walls and guard towers of the prison , accessible by passing the historic cells in the heritage wings of the old gaol .
Delegate reception desks can be located in the prison ’ s central hall , from which grand archways give way to the modern spaces and the dramatic award-winning architecture .
The Bendigo Venues & Events team comprises experienced event planners , premium caterers , booking specialists and skilled technical staff ready to partner with you to deliver a professional and successful event .
With an auditorium capacity of 950 , break out options include expansive foyers , adjoining studios and modern meeting rooms . Outside , three historic courtyards are landscaped and perfect for a range of events . Even the Ulumbarra main stage can be transformed to accommodate dinners or intimate performances .
