EDITOR ’ S LETTER

AUTUMN ISSUE 2022
Eagle-eyed EAs will notice a different headshot on this page and those of you who have been reading for more than a few years may well recognise me . I was at the helm back in 2016 and 2017 before putting work on pause to have my son . And I ’ m delighted to be back editing this unique publication !
It looks like I couldn ’ t have picked a better time to return , as we continue to celebrate 30 years of Executive PA Magazine . I ’ ve delved into the subject on page 18 , talking to some of you about your experience as an EA over the last three decades . We look at how the role has evolved – from making tea to making decisions – and explore the opportunities some of you have had as a result .
Other top features this issue include a spotlight on Brisbane on page 26 ( good things are happening here , and fast !) and a closer look at our cover story , the Melbourne Convention Bureau ( MCB ), on page 32 . Did you know the MCB ’ s close relationship with clients and the industry to curate bespoke itineraries is why corporate meeting and incentive groups choose Melbourne ?
Towards the back of the magazine , the professional development pages are as packed as ever . Beat burnout with the help of Petris Lapis then follow Michelle Gibbings ’ advice to ensure
you ’ re thriving during times of uncertainty . Alternatively , become a master communicator by mirroring some clever strategies from Lisa Stephenson .
Finally , don ’ t forget to check out the book review opportunities on page 64 . You ’ ll find a synopsis of three brand new titles , and we need three of you to check them out and report back .
Until next time , enjoy the issue !
