MEMBER REVIEW Sumptuous style in Sydney
After an extensive and impressive refurbishment, Novotel Sydney Darling Square is back on the event venue circuit with a bang – some of our members visited to see the new facilities for themselves …
Here’ s what our members had to say …
“ Thank you very much for a very enjoyable evening last Thursday – and how good was Adam? The hotel has a lovely feel to it since the renovations, and the food was very tasty.”
Ann Clark, EA, APA Group
“ I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and was pleasantly surprised by the hotel’ s renovations. I noted how close it really was to Darling Harbour and the southern section of the city, with great access to the ICC. I found the hotel to be very nice indeed, and I enjoyed how the conference rooms had those unique projector TVs as this type of technology is a favourite in our organisation. I’ m sure in the close future I’ ll be organising some sort of accommodation for our clients and I will keep the Novotel Darling Square on hand.”

A group of EAs gathered to glimpse a first look of the newly refurbished Novotel Sydney Darling Square, complete with all new accommodation rooms, conference rooms, lobby and restaurant. The multi-million dollar refurbishment aims to position the venue as Sydney’ s most stylish Novotel, with event options ranging from everyday meetings to lavish cocktail parties for up to 400 guests.
The get-together started with informal arrival drinks in the new lobby bar, giving event-organising assistants a flavour of the beautifully renovated interiors to follow. This offered everyone a chance to network, whilst magician and wordsmith Adam
Axford helped break the ice as he mingled with the crowd and wowed EAs with his tricks.
The group had a guided tour of the renovated accommodation and conference spaces and Adam was on-hand here, mystifying the attendees further with his impressive talents. He performed a jaw-dropping grand finale in the last conference space before everyone enjoyed canapés and drinks to wrap up the afternoon – and get a taste of the hotel’ s catering offering! Not forgetting the door prize, of course – lucky Tamzyn Wigglesworth, an EA at KPMG, took home a bottle of Bandini Prosecco. novotelsydneydarlingsquare. com. au
“ It was an enjoyable evening; the roving magician was certainly entertaining and the canapés were excellent. All in all, a wonderful time and I appreciate the kind hospitality of the Novotel staff.”
Jenni Notman, EA, Gen Re
What the organisers had to say …
“ An afternoon spent with great company, experiencing a newly refurbished hotel, good food and drinks, and some added magic! The interaction was useful as we were able to connect and put a face to the names of our clients in a relaxed environment whilst enjoying afternoon canapés and drinks.”
