Performers Dress For
Success
Thanks to Joan Taub Ades of “Joan’s
Closet” in New York, struggling music
students in Manhattan are able to “Dress
For Success”. CBS 2’s Emily Smith
reported that Joan’s Closet is giving over
200 Manhattan School of Music students
high-end, slightly used dresses to wear to
auditions.
"I heard judges say they could
look better. Coming from this
school, they have to be the best.
They have the best talent.”
“This will help me probably look
good for some of that,” said
Caroline Braga, a senior opera
singer.
Joan Taub Ades stated, ‘I heard judges
say they could look better.” Coming from
this school, they have to be the best. They
have the best talent.” she said.
When the students leave Joan’s Closet
they leave with an entire outfit; including
shoes, scarf and handbag. Students can
also enter a lottery for a chance to win
one of six dresses, some of them cost
more
than
$3,000
apiece.
