TO THINE OWN SELF BE TRUE In the entertainment industry and in life we constantly are faced with dilemmas, disappointments, rejections, and questions. There are also times and moments of victory, success and overcoming defeats. However, everything that happens to us has purpose. When negative things happen in our lives, instead of locking ourselves up in our cage of fears and crying over past heartaches, embarrassment and failures; lets learn to treat them as our teachers. They will become our tools in both selfimprovement and towards success. Building self-esteem leads to selfimprovement, self-assessment and determination if we are responsible for who we are, what we have and what we do. Like a flame that gradually spreads like a brush fire from inside and out, when we develop our self-esteem, we take control of our mission, our values and self-discipline. So how do you start putting up the building blocks of selfesteem? Be positive. Be content. Be appreciative. Take an opportunity to compliment. Continuously find positive things about yourself and find your “happy place” within. Being content doesn’t mean that you’re satisfied staying where you are in life. Content means being happy in the life you’re living, grateful for what you have and enjoying your life. Thus, be content, but not satisfied. It’s always a wonderful feeling to look at the things and happenings in your life now, recognizing that those are the things you once wished for. There’s a quote that says, “When the student is ready, the teacher will appear.” Our parents, school teachers, friends, colleagues, officemates, Happy people don’t just accept change, they neighbors… they are also teachers. When embrace it! we open our doors for self-improvement, we increase our advances on the road of success.
