A taste of Vietnam
The graduation ceremony was personalised with a
musical interlude from three Vietnamese students
at the University of Antwerp. The performance
was based on the Vietnamese song “Xin chao Viet
Nam” (Hello Vietnam), introduced to Belgium
by Pham Quynh Anh, who was born in Liege,
Belgium. They also performed the bamboo cone
hat dance with long dress (ao dai). The song in
both Vietnamese and English is to show love for
the country, as well as the hop e to visit Vietnam
one day. Nguyen Thi Phuong Chi, a Master student
in Globalisation and Development at IOB, Nguyen
Canh Lam, a Phd student in the Faculty of Applied
Economics, and Nguyen Minh Hoan, a Master
student of Transport and Maritime Management
at C-MAT, gave the audience a taste of Vietnamese
culture without leaving Antwerp.
