Introducing new staff
Tobias Gandrup
Sarah Vancluysen
I just started my PhD study on the provision
of education services in Somaliland under the
supervision of Prof. Kristof Titeca and Prof. Tom De
Herdt. I just moved to Antwerp from Copenhagen.
My girlfriend, Trine and I are both looking forward
to exploring the city.
I am Sarah Vancluysen, I will be working as a
new research assistant (AAP). This is not my first
encounter with the IOB. During the academic
year 2013-2014, I did a master in ‘Governance
and Development’ here, which was a great
decision. During this year, I got the opportunity
to go to Ecuador for my dissertation about return
migration and entrepreneurship. I am really
looking forward to doing research at IOB. I am
mostly interested in migration and labor market
issues.
Sahawal Alidou
I am Sahawal Alidou. I’ll be working as a research
assistant. I have worked for 8 years as statisticianeconomist, specialized in poverty reduction,
monitoring & evaluation and aid effectiveness
for different institutions (Benin Government, GIZ,
Danish Cooperation, ADE,…) before I decided
to start an academic career. My main research
interests are development economics (in particular
poverty reduction and intra households economics),
gender economics and monetary policy.
