Congratulations Alumnus in the picture Vida Razavi, IOB alumna, co-organised the ‘Salon des Réfugiés’ in January in Antwerp and was one of the three panelist in the artist talks at the Salon. The title of the project refers to the historical Salon des Refusés in Paris, where paintings and sculptures were exhibited that had been rejected by the official Salon de Paris. It also refers to the current flows of migrants and refugees. Artist Sanne De Wolf will lead residents from the Rode Kruis refugee centers (Linkeroever and the emergency refugee centre in Westakkers) and several volunteers in weaving and embroidering textiles. Lines and patterns will be incorporated into the weaving process based on a dialogue between the participants. https://salondesrefugies.wordpress. com/2015/11/24/salon-des-refugies-2016-salon-desrefuses-1863/ Alumni Applause On 17 December 2015, Selmira Flores successfully defended his PhD thesis entitled ‘Gender Dynamics in Dairy Value Chains in Nicaragua.
