Rodney Wilson

One of his favorite quotes:

"Your silence will not protect you."

—Audre Lorde, American writer, women's and civil rights activist

Currently, he serves as a tutor and advisor in his capacity as the Assistant Director of the EXCEL program while also teaching U.S. political systems and comparative religion here at Mineral Area College.

He loves documentaries, compelling dramas, the musical Hamilton, some low-brow television like The Walking Dead, and cats—especially Molly, Millie, and Inglie.

If any MAC student wants to join our program or any current EXCEL student needs help with anything at all, he's the person to see.

Rodney Wilson loves to learn and loves to teach what he's learned—these traits are the foundation of his 30-year career in education.

After graduating from Potosi High School and Mineral Area College in the 1980s, he completed an undergraduate degree in social studies education and two graduate degrees—one in history and one in religion.

During his three-decade career, he's served in many academic capacities in both Missouri and Massachusetts: secondary school teacher, correctional education instructor, ESOL teacher, and manager of an adult education program.

Rodney loves listening to the Hamilton soundtrack. Give it a listen and see if you like it, too.
