PRESIDENT’S AGM REPORT - 2018 The 2018/2019 year as President has been challenging for me and for the committee members. I believe we have achieved a lot and it has been rewarding but we have also had our issues. The lack of a Venue Officer put extra workload on all the committee members, especially myself and Anthony. Thankyou to those who assisted in this area with raffle prizes, guest speakers and generally helping out as required at meetings. Both our membership secretary and our magazine editor started the year off quite well but due to unexpected personal issues throughout the year, they were unable to continue to fulfil their roles and we were required to find other members to take over. As your President, I hope that I met all the required functions to support the club throughout the year but I personally don’t feel that I fulfilled this role with the vigour that I intended when first elected, again due to unexpected changes that had dramatic negative effects in my life. What we did achieve: - A very successful Muster in Dargo over the Easter weekend. Some say this was the best Muster ever. - Another Pajero Challenge in Toolangi which all the competitors enjoyed and stated they would look forward to the next one. - Participation in 4WD shows that invited and attracted new memberships - A deserving membership received the Ironbark award – Laurie and Chris Finlay. - Clubman Award presentations for Simon Garraway, Steven Sellars and Ed Reddick. - A Life Member awarded. As this hasn’t been presented yet, you will need to attend the meeting to find out who this is for. - Several 10,20 and 30 year memberships awarded. Congratulations to these long standing members. - Presentations from the Huts Association, ARB, Aussie Disposals, CARAC, Newtracs 4wd track database, Farina, Salvation Army, Maritime Safety Victoria,Blaze Aid. - Expansion of TeamApp to contain more members only information and to be used for all members notifications. - Lots of trips. Read about these in the Trip & Social report. - Annual strategy meeting still has some important investigations and issues in progress - Cruiserkhana representation and taking out some awards - Introduction of Club plates - Person Of The Year awards (To be presented at this meeting) - Magazine sponsors and advertisers have been re-negotiated with the changes to bi-monthly magazines affecting our number of issues - DTU has introduce new and updated courses for members - and the general day to day running of standard club activities I would like to extend my thankyou to all those who have supported me and the club. This starts with the committee members but also those that have taken on roles running other events like the Muster (Ed Reddick), the Pajero Challenge for 2018 (Russell Chatfield) and all those who assisted in this, the shows where we displayed our club (Alan Sellars and Derek Bardsley), kitchen catering and helpers at each general meeting, the trip leaders who ran various interstate trips around Australia and weekend and day trips within Victoria, and those members who attend any of these trips and events. Without all of you, we would not have a functioning club. Let’s all look forward to a great 2018/2019 with the soon to be elected committee.
