to take them in over morning tea.

We continued south along the Mt Terrible Track, following the ridgeline. With the snow, progress along some of the steeper sections was slow, but again, there were plenty of photo opportunities with great views above the cloud base. We then picked up Ryan Spur, and after some great sections of snow covered tracks to navigate through and an unscheduled stop for a puncture and wheel change, we stopped for lunch in a clearing at the side of the track. After lunch, we picked up the Corn Hill Road towards Mt Matlock, stopping along the way to allow a huge group of at least 20 vehicles to pass. As we came over Mt Matlock passing the fire tower, we dropped down to pick up the Warburton – Woods Point Road and started back to Warburton.

On the way, Peter and Sue opted to take the Frenchmans Spur track, to see which was quickest to Cumberland Junction. Sure it’s been done before, but needless to say, we arrived at Cumberland Junction within a minute or so of each other, and a good point to air up and head home.

Whilst we didn’t make it up to Mt Skene, the weather, views and snow driving on day 2 more than made up for it. Thanks to Bob Aiken for a fantastic trip to the snow – the kids (and big kids) had a blast!
