Friday 10 August 2018, CSR Day 10. Stats - 49km, 14.9lt/100km, average speed 39km/hr After a sleepless night because some miserable person from the Land Rover Club left his generator running all night! We left Punmu early after a hot shower, egg and bacon sandwich and we had a good road all the way to Kunawaritji where we filled up at $3.40 per litre. On the way we stopped at Lake Auld for some photos and a taste of the salt. We drove down to Well 32 and the native well on the worst corrugated roads we had come across to date. Then on to Well 33 for lunch and Well 34 for the night on just as bad corrugated roads. Saturday 11 August 2018, CSR Day 11 Stats - 115kms, 19.6km/hr and an average of 17km/hr. Left Well 33 early and after a short spell of corrugations we spent most of the day climbing over stepped sand dunes with a short spell of rocky road. All the wells were in poor condition, but the scenery was stunning, especially the section driving along the top of the dunes. A notable event was when the Trip Leader drove past the Aboriginal cave with invisible rock drawings and white man graffiti. Well 37 had some interesting history and graves of three drovers killed by natives. Well 38 did not provide respectable camping so we moved onto the next most suitable camp site where the trip leader provided a “One Pan” dinner accompanied with damper and desert cooked in the camp oven by Sue.
