We arrived at Sambain Lodge in time for lunch and as no there was no official trip
planned for the afternoon l decided to run a short trip. After a discussion with Bill,
the camp manager, I decided to run a trip down B1 to Wellington Creek, back up to
the top again and then drive B2 before heading home.
Six cars in total joined the trip and we left at just after 13.30. B1 was a pleasant
medium difficulty trip with some fairly steep sections and amazing views. Caz had an
issue with a stick dislodging a diesel pipe which was easily fixed by Peter Thomas.
We stopped at the Wellington Creek where were joined by a group of three cars who
had driven from Licola and were planning to camp at the creek for the night.
After a break by the creek a chat and some photos we headed back up the hill. At
the fork the group split with three cars heading home and three cars driving B2
which was a pleasant unchallenging drive and we arrived back at about 16.00.
We started at 1,350 m, dropped to 450m and travelled 40kms in 2.5hrs.
